The current exhibition held at the Armani/Silos museum in Via Bergognone 40 is called Heimat. A Sense of Belonging, a beautiful exhibition entirely dedicated to Peter Lindbergh, who passed away last September.

Armani/Silos just reopened its doors and with it, they announced the extended duration of Heimat. A Sense of Belonging.

In the room, a meticulously selected series of published and unpublished works by the photography creates a stunning testimony to the sensitivity and talent of Peter Lindbergh.

His iconic black and white photos full of glamour and modernity. He reshaped the boundaries of fashion photography and realized breath-taking series of rare realism, inspired by documentary photography and photojournalism, in which models would often appear without makeup, without any filter as they appear as they are in front of the lens.

Of course, his most famous photos are exhibited as well, in which iconic supermodels are shot and brought to another level of elegance thanks to his black and white series. For the first time he brought Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz, Cindy Crawford and Christy Trulington together for the cover of Vogue UK, January edition of 1990. This photo will be forever remembered as the icon of the supermodel era that were the 90s.

Of course, the reopening of the exhibition with its bookshop will mean that precaution measures against the new virus Covid-19 will be applied and controlled by authorities.

These rules consist in maintaining a safe distance of 1 meter from the people within the venue, and the obligatory use of face masks for both visitors and staff. Guided tours and the cafeteria are temporarily suspended.

The exhibition dedicated to Peter Lindbergh got extended until January the 10th 2021.

“I have always admired Peter for the consistency and intensity of his work. Timelessness is a quality I personally aspire to, and one that Peter definitely possessed. With this exhibition at Armani/Silos I want to pay tribute to a wonderful professional companion whose love for beauty represents an indelible contribution to our culture, not just to fashion”

– Giorgio Armani.
